“I’m Delighted He Did That” Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Speaks On Presidential Rival Trump And His U-Turn On Cryptocurrency –

Trump's conviction leaves a lot of unanswered questions but voters now have two presidential candidates to vote for in Trump and RFK Jr.

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr spoke yesterday in Austin, TX at Consensus 2024 mere moments after a New York jury delivered unanimous guilty verdicts for former president Donald Trump. Although they are campaign rivals, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said he and Trump are both on the same page when it comes to cryptocurrency.

Kennedy And Trump Agree On One Thing: Cryptocurrency

Asked about Trump’s recent stance change on cryptocurrency, Kennedy responded, “I’m delighted that he did that.” He added, “More politicians, and Gary Gensler also came out to do the ETF for Ethereum, and I think those are promising. Are they politically driven? Probably, but I’m not going to look into their motivations. I’m just happy they’re doing it.”

Kennedy was enthusiastic when speaking at Consensus, remarking how “more people recognize the importance of cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin in particular, in my view and the importance of having decentralized currencies that can reinvigorate our country, that can make our country once again a hub for innovation for entrepreneurship.”

Kennedy’s pro-crypto stance is in his own words about “giving individuals power, the power to hold on to their wealth without dilution, the power to transport the wealth across borders without the government confiscating it from you.” He said the country needs “a base currency that will keep us out of war.”

RFK Jr. On AI And Using The Blockchain To Fix Elections

Later on during his talk at the Consensus event the discussion turned to emergence of artificial intelligence, with Kennedy saying that the rise of AI has only strengthened his beliefs to in crypto. He said, “The reason I was drawn to this community in the first place is the re-democratization of American society, of transparency, having integrity, and freedom to have resistance mechanisms—particularly with the rise of AI and all of these really dystopian, totalitarian technologies that can be used to harvest our data but also for surveillance and control by the government.”

Kennedy believes the blockchain can act as a solution for the current election system within the US, “We need something to protect us now to protect our values, our democracy, our transparency,” he said. “The obvious way to do that is through blockchain and blockchain you can fix the election system.”

With a reported 40% of American adults owning cryptocurrency as of a 2024 study, US voters will be hoping that Tuesday 5 November results in a pro-crypto president winning the election in Kennedy or Trump.
