Swing state voters still trust Donald Trump more on the economy than Kamala Harris, in a blow to her strategy to win support with a plan to tackle inflation.
Exclusive polling for The Telegraph shows that the largest group of voters in all seven swing states trust Trump more to bring down the cost of household essentials.
The survey shows that the economy is the most significant issue in battleground states, following years of high inflation.
Ms Harris has launched a plan to build an “opportunity economy”, which would include a federal ban on unjustified price increases that Trump has described as “communist”.
The poll, by Redfield & Wilton Strategies, shows that between 42 and 48 per cent of voters in Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, Nevada and Wisconsin say they trust Trump more on the economy.
