Catachanas’s new firm seeks capital for sustainable investment strategies | News

A new global investment firm, led by founding partner Anthony Catachanas, is seeking capital to deploy across a diverse range of sustainable investment strategies, including industrial private equity, infrastructure and natural capital.

Catachanas who acts as group CEO of Tower Peak Partners (TPP), is joined by fellow founding partner Denis Sedes as group CFO and CRO of the firm with offices in London and New York.

The team so far also includes Wolfgang Bischoff as managing partner and group CIO and Luke Apicella as managing partner and North America CIO.

TPP, which “has already generated significant investor support”, plans office openings in both Rio de Janeiro and Panama City to support its investments in South America, Central America and the Caribbean.

The firm’s investment includes “providing capital and support to scale innovative companies with proven technologies to help heavy industry through the use of its deep expertise and global networks”.

Catachanas said: “There is a real opportunity to help provide the support and scale needed to achieve industrial change for a decarbonised economy, whilst also driving returns for investors by targeting under-penetrated parts of the infrastructure investment market.

“We have already received the commitments and backings of a number of blue-chip investors and corporates from within our broad global network and look forward to announcing some exciting further developments throughout the year.”

Prior to his current role, Catachanas was a co-founder and CEO of Victory Hill Capital Partners. Before this, he was responsible for international business strategy and private asset investments globally as well as institutional investment solutions for EMEA and helped build and develop the real asset investment business of Asset Management One Alternative Investments, the alternative asset management arm of Mizuho Financial.

He was also a founding principal of Mizuho Bank’s Energy Special Situations Group. He was previously also worked at AlphaOne Partners, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank and ABN AMRO.

Sedes was previously an operating partner of Victory Hill, and the founder and CEO of Navirco. Prior to this, he was EMEA head of structured solutions and risk advisory in Mizuho Bank’s corporate finance advisory division. His other roles include being a senior advisor to the board of Eurizon SLJ Capital, a portfolio manager at Eiffel Investment, and working for the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Group across several advisory roles.

Bischoff was a managing director in Copenhagen Infrastructure Partner’s first growth markets fund for renewable energy assets. Prior to this, he spent 16 years as head of Siemens’ principal investments in infrastructure and private equity investments.

Apicella was VP at PGIM and has been a member of the multiple investment and advisory committees and boards for impact driven financial intermediaries and companies as well as served on corporate committees such as Prudential’s climate change policy task force and its environmental task force.
