Carmignac
Asset manager Carmignac has just
launched Carmignac Portfolio Tech
Solutions, an equity fund designed to capitalise on the
long-term sustainable opportunities in the global technology
space.
The fund has a sustainable investment objective in the European
marketplace, classified under Article 9 under the Sustainable
Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), the firm said in a
statement.
For more than two decades, the tech sector has been a major
driving force for equity markets globally. “With artificial
intelligence giving birth to new champions and expanding
frontiers, the sector is accelerating again, triggering the start
of a new technology cycle. Technology is at the heart of
environmental and social transitions already at work, making it a
true enabler of long-term sustainable growth,” the firm said.
The fund is managed by Kristofer Barrett, manager of the global
equity strategy. He is also a stock picker who managed a
technology equity strategy from March 2020 to February 2024
before joining Carmignac in April 2024.
Carmignac Portfolio Tech Solutions uses a blended
approach, mixing a growth-focused investment strategy with value
opportunities. The result is a flexible and concentrated
portfolio, investing in companies of all market capitalisations
and a bias towards the US and Asia to cover the full
innovation value chain, the firm said.
